Visit terms

Visit terms: the plain conditions of an evening at the hall

These terms describe what you can expect from a visit to Wollemi Hall and what the hall asks of you in return.

The terms, one topic at a time

What these terms cover

These terms apply to the website at wollemihall.com and to every visit to the hall at 74 Parke Street, Katoomba. By booking or by entering the building you agree to them. They are written to be read, so if anything seems unclear, please ask the host before you arrive.

Bookings

A booking request is not a confirmed booking until the host has replied by email. Dinner tables are held for fifteen minutes after the stated time. Seats in the casino room are held for the evening. Either may be released if the host cannot reach you, and you may cancel at any time by telephone or email.

Chips have no value

Every game in the casino room is played on chips. Chips are counters supplied by the hall; they have no monetary value, cannot be bought, sold, exchanged or redeemed, and must remain in the room. No game involves money, and no prize of any kind is offered, apart from a name on the honour board.

Everything happens in the building

The hall offers no online play, no app and no remote games. The casino room operates only on the first floor of the building and only for guests who are present. This website describes the hall; it is not a place to play, and nothing on it can be played.

Liability

The hall takes reasonable care of guests and their belongings, but cannot be responsible for items left unattended or for events outside its control, such as weather, road closures or the cancellation of trains. Nothing in these terms limits any right a guest has under Australian consumer law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Australian law. Any dispute that cannot be settled by conversation with the floor manager will be decided by the courts of New South Wales, to which both the guest and the hall submit.

Age limit

The casino room admits guests aged 18 and over only. Identification is checked on every visit, and the hall may refuse entry to anyone who cannot show it. Children may dine in the ground-floor room with a responsible adult, but they may not climb the stairs to the tables.

Rules of the visit

Guests agree to follow the house rules published on the Playing by the rules page and the instructions of staff on the night. The hall may ask a guest to leave if the calm of the room is disturbed, and will do so with courtesy and without argument.

Changes to the terms

The hall may revise these terms from time to time. The version on this page is the one that applies on the day you read it, and the date of a visit, not the date of a booking, decides which version governs it. Photographs and text on this website belong to the hall and may not be reused without permission.
