Getting here

By train, by car or on foot

Trains on the mountains line stop at Katoomba, and the walk from the platform to our door takes about five minutes, mostly downhill on the way there and uphill on the way back. Please check the timetable for the last service of the night before you settle into dessert.

By car, the Great Western Highway brings you into town. Parke Street has kerbside spaces after six, and there is a council car park behind the shopfronts, a short stroll away. The footpaths are lit, but frost can form quickly in winter, so please watch your step.

The telephone is answered during opening hours by the host, and the email address is read daily. For anything urgent on the day of a booking, telephone rather than write.

Small practical questions

Where can I park?

Parke Street has kerbside spaces after six, and a council car park lies behind the shops a short walk away. The footpath between them is lit, and the host will point you the right way.

Is the hall far from the Three Sisters?

Echo Point is a drive or a longer walk from Parke Street, so most visitors see the Sisters by day and come to dinner by dusk. The cliffs are floodlit at night, which makes a pleasant sight on the way back to the station.

What are the opening hours?

Tuesday to Sunday, 17:00 – 23:30. The kitchen takes its final orders at 21:30, the tables close at 23:00 and the doors close at half past eleven. The hall is closed on Mondays.

Can I telephone to ask about a table?

Yes, on +61 2 4782 6314 during opening hours. A host will answer, and if the line is busy she will call back as soon as the dining room is settled.

Is there a place to leave a coat or a bag?

There is a coat stand in the dining room entrance and another on the landing. Large rucksacks may be left with the host, who keeps them behind the desk for the evening.
