About these pictures
Who took them, and when
The photographs on this page were taken over several seasons by staff and by a few regular guests who asked if they might. Most were made on ordinary evenings with the lamps at their usual level, because the hall looks its best when nothing has been arranged for the camera.
You will notice that few faces appear. That is deliberate. Guests come to Wollemi Hall for a quiet evening, and the house will not publish a photograph in which someone can be recognised without their agreement. Those who appear have said yes.
The kitchen pictures were made in the late afternoon, when Clayton Richards has the oven at its steadiest. The room upstairs was photographed before the doors opened, with every chip in its rack and every lamp lit.
If you would like a picture removed or a new one considered, please write to the booking address. We reply to every message and are glad to take a photograph out at once.
A few of the images are of the building rather than the people in it: the brass rail on the stairs, the pressed-metal ceiling, the drawers that once held ribbons. They are there for guests who like to know where they are going before they arrive, and for those who have been and wish to remember the look of it.
